IMPROVING LIVES OF PEOPLE IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES

We recruit from the widest possible talent pool and break down barriers to opportunities

We continually look to hire talent from underrepresented groups. To do that, we make sure our recruitment process is inclusive, and we participate in programmes including local unemployment projects and government initiatives that support people into work.

We provide access to valuable careers

By offering ongoing training and support, we create long-lasting careers – not just jobs – both in our own offices and across our customer sites. We believe every person should have the chance to realise their full potential.

We foster a diverse and inclusive culture

Our colleagues reflect the global nature of our business. To make sure the culture is accepting and understanding, we invest in wellbeing, mental health support, and diversity and equality training programmes.

We support local businesses

Supporting local communities is an important way for us to give back. Wherever possible, we use products and services from small businesses and local community enterprises to support the local economy.

Standing against modern slavery

OCS operates a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our business and supply chains. In the UK, we are part of the Business Services Association’s Modern Slavery Council, working with industry colleagues to address the risk of modern slavery within our own structures and supply chains.

Our approach in action

Our team in Thailand won an Amcham Thailand CSR Award of Excellence for their initiative to provide career opportunities for migrants from neighbouring countries. They have been commended by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security for employing a high number of elderly and disabled colleagues.

In New Zealand, a 10-year partnership with First Foundation offers scholarships for young family members of the OCS workforce. The scholarships give young people financial support, mentoring and work experience.

Meanwhile, in the UK, we have seen a 54% increase in new apprenticeships, and we have delivered a number of initiatives to get disadvantaged people back into the workforce.

Watch the story of two people who have benefited from these initiatives.
