Case Study
Protecting world leaders at the 2021 G7 Summit, UK
The three-day event, held at Carbis Bay, St Ives, Cornwall, posed high-risk security challenges. We were engaged to provide full security, and the event passed safely without incident. Here’s how we did it.
- 748 security guards deployed to keep world leaders, the Queen and members of the Royal Family safe
- A further 120 guards on standby
- 18 manned X-ray machines and 18 archway metal detectors
- 3 Evolv Edge detection machines
- 24 CCTV towers with thermal imaging capabilities plus remote monitoring
- 246 Perimeter Intruder Detection (PID) systems
Despite a number of widespread protests during the course of the event, there were no major security breaches, and our team kept control of the crowds, leading to a personal thanks to the team from the then UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
